Autumn Krom

Veterinary Assistant

Primary Clinic: Menlo Park

Autumn Krom grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, where she started riding when she was about 5 and started consistently taking lessons at 11. She primarily rode three horses, focusing on Eventing and Dressage. One winter, Autumn had a job pulling a team of two big Belgians through the snow for sleigh rides, and says it was her most “fun” job with horses, ever! While still in high school, Autumn earned her Associate’s Degree in Business from Rochester Community and Technical College.

At just 17 years old, Autumn moved to California to become a working student at a dressage barn, where she was kept busy riding up to 8 horses a day. She also enjoyed teaching kids riding and helping grow the lesson program.

Autumn has spent time with horses all her life and assisted with a good deal of injury management, treatment, and rehab at her previous job. She also grew up seeing her mom enjoy working as a Small Animal Veterinary Technician. Autumn decided to start working as an Equine Veterinary Assistant because she wants to find out if she enjoys the field enough to further her career with more education in the industry. She is looking forward to learning a lot by assisting the Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics veterinary team with the mobile practice in the San Francisco East Bay region.

Autumn does not have her own horse (yet), but in addition to working as a Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics Veterinary Assistant, she also has a part time job riding a showjumper. She misses her family’s Aussie Doodle Hank, who lives in Minnesota, but her boyfriend’s Chocolate Lab Boog helps fill the gap. When not working, Autumn enjoys touring around the area in the truck with Boog, taking nice walks, running, and going to Country music concerts.
